Nestlé Health Science Impact Advanced Recovery® Immunonutrition Drink

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerhouse I was recommended this product by a nutritionist prior to major surgery in March so I purchased two orders. I had another surgery in late October and purchased another order. Both times I consumed the shake prior to and following surgery and firmly believe it played a role in my overall health and ability to prepare and heal from the surgeries. It tastes better than any of the nutritional drinks like Ensure on the market and unlike those drinks does not bother my stomach - seems there's much less sugar in the Impact Advance and that works for me. If you did make a shake to compete either the Ensures and Boosts on the market I would definitely give it a try. Thank you! Sincerely, Donnalyn Murphy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product! First off, I think this stuff tastes great. What I have done was blend 1/2 cup frozen blueberries with a good handful of spinach and about 1/2 cup of water in my ninja. Then add drink and slowly handshake to blend. I refrigerate my drinks so it is ready to drink from there. My surgeons office had me drink two a day, five days prior to surgery. I ordered another 3 cases for my post op recovery. I’m four weeks post op and my healing is above and beyond for L5-T12 spinal fusion with two cages. I just finished my last shake taking them daily since surgery. My husband even brought to me the three days I was in hospital. I only wish the sugar content wasn’t so high.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product! I drank this supplement, as directed for the 5 days before & 5 days after my recent hip replacement. (My first hip replacement was 6 years ago.) My first replacement went very well; this replacement went even better. I was discharged from the hospital the day after my surgery and was pain-free within 4 days. I was walking with just a cane within the week & able to use my stairs within days. My wound has healed very quickly & the bruising was gone within 10 days. I am a Registered Dietitian & am very familiar with this product & the research; I decided to try it as part of my recovery. I enjoyed the taste, to me it tasted like cake batter (which I love) & I was able to drink the 3 servings daily without issues. I highly recommend this product for anyone going through surgery, & have for friends with upcoming surgeries.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Make it into a shake Currently a couple of days pre-surgery and taking two boxes of this a day pre-op as recommended by my surgeon and will do the two boxes a day post-op as well. I’m determined to make this a very successful knee replacement. That being said, I’m struggling to figure out how to have this NOT be a meal replacement as it makes me super-full. After drinking one straight, I used a suggestion on the website and now make it into a smoothie blended with ice cubes, a spoonful of peanut butter, and chocolate syrup. Much better. I’ll edit my review post-surgery with whether I think it made a difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wound Healing I had 2 tummy tucks that ended up in necrosis..both of them. I got to the point where I stopped healing. This product accelerated my healing process. I have continued to use as my wound was big. I am at the tail end of the healing process with one more area to close. If it weren't for this, I am not sure where I would be. My doctor's office now recommends it to all the patients and have had good results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For pre-post Op Come highly recommended from one of the top wound-care dietitians in the country - so we’ve used it for my husband pre-and postop and he healed “faster than normal” according to his surgeon. For those having difficulty with the taste, I suggest pouring it over ice, covering it in a lid and drinking with a straw so you cannot smell it. Adding a splash of lemon juice might help as well but experiment with a very small amount first. At nearly $10/8oz box, it’s far too expensive to waste! Just the smell of fresh squeezed lemon can sometimes help cut nausea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth it Got this as part of the Pre-Op CARES program at my hospital. Took it as directed, not as a meal replacement. The taste is tolerable, better cold and it's thick like a melted shake. Smells a bit like a high quality vitamins. I have had several major surgeries, and definitely felt like I recovered faster with this one. An anticipated 2-3 days in the hospital was cut to less than 24hours after surgery. My 10 inch incision has healed nicely. I'm still sore, but no swelling or infection. Would recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK Impact Advanced Recovery seems to have helped with pre-surgery preparation. We also have seen good results with recovery. Big problem with packaging. Patient has a feeding tube and was unable to take by mouth so had to open at the seams to use.
